Ungab Podtest 3 Shakespeare Sonnet 130 by Phillip J Rhoades

Shakespeare's Sonnet 130 as recited by Phillip J Rhoades

My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips' red;
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head.
I have seen roses damask'd, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
And in some perfumes is there more delight
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.
I love to hear her speak, yet well I know
That music hath a far more pleasing sound;
I grant I never saw a goddess go;
My mistress, when she walks, treads on the ground:
And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare
As any she belied with false compare.

Twilight Reaction by Phillip J Rhoades

I decided to finally sit down and watch "Twilight" to see what all the fuss is about. This is my reaction as I watch it. Spoken into my H2 over the course of the movie. Overall it was pretty okay, but not really the best movie ever. 3.5 out or 5. It does make me want to take a look at the books.

(Need to get the levels a little better next time. Ah well)

Susie Are You Insane By Phillip J Rhoades

(lyrics)

Susie are you insane?
Susie are you mad?
Susie are you crazy?
Susie are you sad?

Pace around your room now
Looking everywhere
Eyes are only mirrors
Drowning in despair

You're hiding from the sun
Darkness as a cloak
Wrapped around a body
Bent so hard it broke

Susie are you insane?
Susie are you mad?
Susie are you crazy?
Susie are you sad?

Wonder if they'll hear you
Speaking to the air
Wonder if they'll listen
Though there's no one there

Throw yourself to the floor
Scream into the boards
Drunk on filthy tears
These are your rewards

Susie are you insane?
Susie are you mad?
Susie are you crazy?
Susie are you sad?

Don't worry now it's clear
Don't worry now our dear
We'll put an end to pain
We'll put an end to fear

Just take this pretty pill
Then drink this nasty swill
And slip into a dream
Let warmth replace the chill

Susie you are insane?
Susie you are mad?
Susie you are crazy?
Susie you are sad?

Susie you are gone. . .

Quickimentary WInter Olympic Games by Phillip J Rhoades

23
vote

Quickimentary, you won't learn much but you'll learn it fast. Today, Winter Olympics.

The Winter Olympics or Winter Olympic Games are a major international multi-sport event held every four years in which thousands of athletes participate in order to foster cooperation and friendship between the nations of the world while also celebrating athleticism.

The first Winter Olympic Games were held in Chamonix, France in 1924, 28 years after the first Summer Olympic Games (originally called the Games of the I Olympiad) in 1896. Before that, figure skating and ice hockey were part of the Summer Olympics.

The 1940 Winter Olympics were to have taken place in Sapporo, Japan, but were canceled due to the Japanese invasion of China. The 1944 Winter And Summer Olympics were canceled due to the 1938 invasion of Poland by Germany.

In 1956 the Winter Olympics being held in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy were the first Winter Olympic Games to ever be broadcast on television even though no television rights were sold until the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome.

The 2010 Winter Olympic Games were held in Vancouver, Canada. A city with 2.5 million citizens, Vancouver is the largest metropolitan area ever to host the Winter Olympics. The 2014 Winter Olympics are to be held in Sochi, Russia.

The winter Olympics have spanned nearly 9 decades, bringing together many nations to compete in sporting events like cross-country skiing, figure skating, ice hockey, ski jumping, speed skating, the luge, and freestyle skiing. All to foster friendship and competition in athleticism.

Quickimentary, you didn't learn much, but you learned it fast.
