So this building kitty corner from me started falling apart today! Got some footage of it. Sent it along to the boys at WOOD TV (local NBC affiliate). Here's a still. Wonder if they'll use the footage. . .
Nobody got killed, and nobody got hurt. How would the TV guys do anything? The owners of the building are being allowed to clean up/demolish the remainder of the building on their own over the next two weeks.
The township hall decided to knock the building down without the permission of the owner, did not file for any permits, had to stop midway, and then decided to try to send the fines for not filing for permits to the owner. They didn't even let him shore up the building and get his belongings from it first. They gave him no choice in the matter and now he's stuck with a demolished building and a threat of "failure to file for permit" fines.
